The Rory Peck Training Fund enables freelancers, who otherwise could not afford it, to undertake hostile environment training.

Our bursaries help freelancers to assess risk and spot danger, handle a crisis, support others and give first aid training. The right training can save not only their lives, but the lives of colleagues.

Who can apply?

Bursaries are available to applicants who have been working as bona fide professional freelancers involved in newsgathering or current affairs for a minimum of 18 months.

Priority is given to those:

• With an immediate or urgent need
• With confirmed assignments in hostile regions
• Whose work habitually takes them into hostile environments

All courses need to be booked directly through the course providers.
