Bayeaux Bike Ride 2009
When Paul Douglas, a staff cameraman and James Brolan, a freelance sound editor, were killed in Iraq in 2006, broadcaster CBS News mourned both deaths equally and treated their families with equal recognition.
This year, in memory of their two friends, Deputy Bureau Chief Andy Clarke, together with Mark Ludlow and Andy Stevenson undertook a charity bike ride. They cycled from London to the journalists’ war memorial in Bayeux, France. The money raised was considerable, and shared between The Rory Peck Trust and Reporters Sans Frontieres. It is a fantastic achievement.
We would like to thank Andy, Andy and Mark, together with Geri Brolan, and everyone who donated to this wonderful initiative and helped to support our work.
