About the awardsThe Rory Peck Awards uniquely celebrate the work of freelance video-journalists, filmmakers and camera persons in news and current affairs worldwide. Established in 1995 and named after freelance cameraman Rory Peck who was killed in Moscow in 1993, they highlight the important contribution they make to newsgathering and why they deserve support. The annual ceremony, which takes place at London’s BFI Southbank, is the main fundraiser for the Rory Peck Trust.
