Colin Pereira

Colin Pereira is Co-Founder of two security companies, RiskPal and HP Risk Management that specialise in supporting journalists covering dangerous stories. He also served as a the Chief Safety Strategist at the Committee to Protect Journalists – helping independent freelancers around the world.

Colin has spent more than 25 years shaping the journalism safety approach with senior experience at the BBC, ITN, and in supporting reporting from conflict, disaster, and other high-risk environments. His work focused on making risk assessment and safety support more practical, accessible, and relevant to the realities of modern reporting. He serves as a crisis manager for many media organisations and NGOs helping them resolve serious incidents.
