Yasser Abu Wazna

While global media coverage of the war in Gaza has rightly focused on its immense human toll, this powerful film offers a distinct perspective — a deeply personal, visual comparison of life before the conflict and the devastation that followed. Drawing on archival footage, the film revisits communities whose livelihoods once flourished along Gaza’s vibrant coastline.

After the war began, Yasser continued his work under extraordinarily dangerous conditions – navigating bombardment, displacement and widespread communication blackouts. Guiding local contributors to film their own experiences, he ensured their stories were told with authenticity and care.

His deep knowledge of the region and his ability to bridge past and present give this film its emotional power – a vivid portrayal of both human and economic loss, and the enduring resilience of Gaza’s people.
