Stand with Abed
Abed is an award-winning photojournalist from Gaza. But after months of relentless bombing, he was forced to flee. He’s now trying to rebuild his life in exile—supported, in part, by a grant from the Rory Peck Trust.
In 2024, two-thirds of those who turned to us for help were freelance journalists uprooted by fear, violence, or persecution. But escape is just the start. To mark World Press Freedom Day 2025, we’re launching a new programme specifically tailored to support journalists-in-exile. It will begin in the UK, but we need your help to make it happen.
Over the past 30 years, we’ve supported more than 3,000 freelancers. With your support, we can help many more. And right now, thanks to GiveMatch, every donation is doubled.
So, please, stand with Abed, stand with freelancers and stand with journalists-in-exile.
