Introducing the Winners of the 2024 Rory Peck Awards

Last night the winners of the 30th annual Rory Peck Awards were announced at the BFI Southbank in London. The Awards ceremony, hosted by Clive Myrie (BBC) and Cathy Newman (Channel 4), showcased some of the best of global news reporting by freelance journalists and covered stories from around the world, including Palestine, Darfur, Haiti, Russia, Ukraine, and Myanmar.

For the first time ever, the winning entries across all four Awards categories focus on a single story, Gaza, highlighting the brave reporting, extreme loss of life and suffering of media workers from Palestine.

The Executive Director of the Rory Peck Trust, Jon Williams, said: “The Awards shine a light on the extraordinary achievements of freelancers, while recognising the many sacrifices that they make to ensure the world knows the truth.”

Congratulations to all the winners of the 2024 Rory Peck Awards!

With thanks to our committed sponsors, without whom the Awards would not be possible.
