Rory Peck Awards 2014 OPEN FOR ENTRIES

Rory Peck Awards 2014 OPEN FOR ENTRIES

The only awards dedicated to the work of freelance cameramen and camerawomen in news and current affairs are NOW OPEN!

And this year we have a new online entry form to make the submission process even easier.

Entries are invited from freelancers worldwide in three categories:

  • Rory Peck Award for News ( Max. dur. 10 mins.)
Honours the work of freelance cameramen and camerawomen in the coverage of a news event where the focus is on the immediacy of the story.  Agency rushes/un-voiced pieces are accepted in this category.
  • Rory Peck Award for Features (Max. dur. 60 mins.)
Honours the work of freelance cameramen and camerawomen in news and current affairs features: in-depth pieces which look beyond the immediacy of a news story.
  • Sony Impact Award (Max. dur. 60 mins.)
Honours the work of freelance cameramen and camerawomen in news or current affairs that examines humanitarian or social issues. Judges will be looking for entries that have had a tangible impact in one or more of the following areas: audience, press, policy or public awareness.

All entries must have had their first broadcast (television, agency feed, recognised online news publisher) between 1 JUNE 2013 and 31 MAY 2014

The Rory Peck Awards welcome self-funded work and entries from local freelancers, especially those living and working in regions where it is difficult to operate.

For further information and to enter, visit the Rory Peck Awards pages.

CLOSING DATE: MONDAY 9 JUNE 2014
