The Judges have made their decisions and we are thrilled to announce the 2022 Rory Peck Awards Finalists. Their work reports on the impact of conflict, oppression and climate change on local communities through powerful and intimate footage from Ukraine to the Arctic, Nigeria to India.

Judging panels of industry experts had the tough job of selecting just twelve Finalists from hundreds of entries. All the Finalists will be celebrated at the Awards ceremony on November 16th, with four overall Winners announced on the night

There are four Award categories each celebrating three Finalists, all of whom have shown commitment, courage and integrity in bringing us compelling news stories from all corners of the world.

Notable across the entries this year was the increased number of stories which reported on the effects of climate change on local communities across the world.

Altogether the outstanding work produced by the Finalists provides a stark reminder of the importance of media freedom in challenging disinformation and the essential role that independent freelance journalists play in international newsgathering.
