RPT calls on the EU to
help journalists in
the Israel-Gaza war

The Rory Peck Trust today joins the Committee to Protect Journalists, along with 16 other partner organisations, in a call for press freedom and journalists’ rights to be respected during the Israel-Gaza war.

The group has sent a letter to Josep Borrell, the High Representative for the European Union on Foreign and Security Policy, asking the EU “to act immediately and decisively to promote the conditions for safe and unrestricted reporting on the hostilities.”

More journalists have been killed in the first 10 weeks of the Israel-Gaza war than have ever been killed in a single country over an entire year, according to a new analysis by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).
