The Rory Peck Trust is offering a free one-day safety workshop for freelance journalists covering protests, civil unrest, and unpredictable environments. Taking place in Manchester (3rd November) and Glasgow (4th November), the training includes practical scenarios, trauma first aid, and tools for navigating hostile or volatile situations.
This opportunity is open to UK-based freelance journalists with at least 12 months of experience. Participants will be expected to take part in hands-on exercises and should bring comfortable clothing. All safety gear will be provided, and the training will follow a ‘do no harm’ approach.
This workshop has now ended but if you are interested in participating in a similar workshop please email info@rorypecktrust.org to express your interest and please detail which region you live or work in.
